Children and Polygamy – How it Effects Them
The Harmful Effects of Polygamy on Children: During a study with 352 participants: 174 from monogamous families and 178 from polygamous families, divided by gender and family status, with ages ranging from 13 t0 15 years, found that, “Adolescents from the polygamous families had serious academic issues. For example, we see from Table 4.5 that more than one-quarter, 27 %, of the adolescents from polygamous families expected not to finish high school compared to 16 % of those from monogamous families. Have you ever heard the phrase, “Don’t Sweep it Under the Rug?” This was a popular saying during my childhood. I had No idea what it meant until just recently: “Don’t Sweep it Under the Rug” saying, is a plea to confront an issue rather than ignore it, with “sweeping it under the rug” meaning to hide, deny or avoid dealing with a problem, mistake, embarrassing situation, even abuse. If God was going to tell man that he would rule over a woman, He would have said it in the Garden before the Fall, but He didn’t.
