Award winning soul singer Amy Winehouse was found dead Saturday in her London flat,  she struggled with alcohol and drugs throughout her career.  Winehouse is credited for the success of her “Back To Black” album released in 2006 which landed her 5 Grammy awards.  Her most popular single “Rehab” along with another single “Valerie” peaked at #1.

Her mother Janis Winehouse was said to have been able to visit with her daughter the day before she died. “I love you mum” are the last words her mother heard from Amy, “These are the words I will always treasure” said Janis to reporters recorded in the Sunday Mirror, “I’m glad I saw her when I did.” There are no reports as to the cause of her death.

Amy’s father Mitch Winehouse a jazz musician said during an interview this summer  “We love singing in our family” after the release of his new album “Rush Of Love” (June 2011)  Mitch is also quoted saying, “If Amy wasn’t my daughter, I wouldn’t be given this opportunity…” Reports say that Amy’s  father was very vocal and spoke publicly trying to help his daughter regarding her drug issues.
