The Harmful Effects of Polygamy on Children: During a study with 352 participants: 174 from monogamous families and 178 from polygamous families, divided by gender and family status, with ages ranging from 13 t0 15 years, found that, “Adolescents from the polygamous families had serious academic issues. For example, we see from Table 4.5 that more than one-quarter, 27 %, of the adolescents from polygamous families expected not to finish high school compared to 16 % of those from monogamous families.
