God’s Answer to Porn and Other Addictions
In a recent article by Newsweek’s Susanne Blake, (Oct 3, 2025) titled: “This is How Many Americans Are Addicted to Porn – Survey” says, that “Porn Addiction has affected nearly 1 in 10 Americans, accoding to the recent data from AddictionResource.net.”
She says that 7 percent of all U.S. adults who consume porn say they’re addicted.
In the article we’re also informed that these studies also reveal that, “Those addicted often report lost time at work or at home and can quickly have the addiction Overtake their personal and Romantic Relationships, (marriage) even impacting families.
In her study we’re also informed that, “Men are significantly more likely to watch than women, with 69% of men and 40% of women in America saying they viewed online porn each year.
It is reported that young adults beginning at the age of 18-34, had the highest rates of watching porn. She says that children are first exposed to porn between ages 9 and 13, with 93% of teen boys and 62% teen girls reporting exposure to internet porn.
Dr. Angela Gregory, from the men’s healthcare clinic International Andrology London, told Newsweek: “You had a much slower awakening in terms of finding out more about sex and relationships and sexual practices, because there wasn’t anything available. Now you don’t need to go to the living room and wait for the parents to go to bed, or wait until you are on your own, to access it. Today you have your smartphones and you can be anywhere.”
There is Hope – God has Provided a Way Out of Addiction to Porn and Other Addictions:
Paul speaking by the Holy Spirit, (the Spirit of Jesus) says in 1 Corinthians 10:13, “The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience (keep in mind the devil wants to put so much shame and guilt on you to overwhelm you and he lies (Jesus said Satan is the father of lies) telling you it’s only you) And God is Faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted HE will SHOW YOU a WAY OUT.”
Before I share with you what the Lord Jesus revealed to me in His Word, and how He Helps us and shows us a “Way Out” we must remember that we are NEVER tempted by God to do evil, because there is “No evil in Him” Psalm 92:15 says, “The LORD is Just, there is NO evil in Him,” and James 1:13 says, “God cannot be tempted with evil, neither does He tempt anyone” but temptation comes when we are “drawn away of our OWN lust (desire, forbidden things) and enticed (lured away, bait).”
While recently standing in the kitchen, preparing my evening snack, I was talking with the LORD Jesus, as I always do, and during my conversation (prayer) with Him, I asked Him why do people continually and habitually sin? More specifically, I asked why do men struggle with sexual desires outside of marriage, as I am fully aware of the scriptures regarding “lusts of the flesh” (although the bible informs us that lusts of the flesh are not limited to sexual desires, but also include other “obsessions” such as greed, money, manipulation, cruelty, hatred, abuse, etc.,) I literally asked Him “Why?” Why is there such a strong desire (for men in particular) to become so obsessed with sex (porn) that it literally causes ruin in their lives, marriages and families. And when you “ask” Jesus something in Faith, believing, He WILL answer you. He is Truth, He is Wisdom, He knows and understands everything and has All answers, so, while standing at the sink, washing my hands, He Answered and said these words, “Complete in Him.”
Now when He said this to me, I knew it was a verse so, I sat down and began to look up the verse, and study the Greek on that word “COMPLETE”, and this is what I found and what He Revealed to me: “And You are Complete in Him which is the head over all principality and power.” Colossians 2:10. Now the word “Complete” in the Greek is the word: Pleroo and it means Fully and Completely Filled and Fully Satisfied. And He began to show me that when you are “In Christ Jesus” when you have His Holy Spirit in you, you are “Complete” in Him; you are Fully Satisfied IN Christ Jesus. How? It was during Pentecost, Jesus had informed the Disciples in the book of John that the Holy Spirit was going to come, and in Acts chapter 1:4,5 Jesus “Commanded” them all (men and women) to wait for the Promise of the Father, “Once when He was eating with them, He commanded them, “Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the Gift He Promised, as I told you before. John baptized with water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” When this happened, Jesus who is the Holy Spirit, came to Live inside of human beings, and one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit as written in Galatians 5:22-23 is not only Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, all of which are significant, but also “Self-Control”. Self-Control involves the ability by the Holy Spirit in you, to Restrain from negative impulses (lusts of the flesh), controlling thoughts, words and actions, and choosing God’s Will over sinful desires. The “fruit” of self-control helps individuals navigate life and Resist Temptation. This can ONLY be done with the Help of the Holy Spirit of God living in you and me. The scriptures tell us we CAN “draw close to God and He will draw close to You, Resist the devil (sin and temptations to sin come from the spirit of darkness, Satan) and he WILL flee.”
Those who struggle with such addictions, have not fully understood that they are “Complete in Him,” they do not yet have the revelation that when you “Walk in the Spirit” you will “Not fulfill the lusts of the flesh” that is proof you have a healthy understanding that you are “Complete in Him,” that you are Fully-Satisfied that you no longer want or desire to “fulfill the lusts of the flesh,” Galatians 5:16-26. Therefore, it is my understanding that people who struggle with addictions, have not yet understood what, “Complete in Him” means, but is my prayer that they do. It is my prayer that we All do.
Accountability: When struggling with the temptations of sin, it is Best to talk to someone who is full of the Holy Spirit, one you can trust, talking about it brings it to the light, because if you keep it hidden in your thoughts, (darkened mind, eye full of darkness) that is when you lose that battle.
I have always gone to the Lord Jesus to talk with Him, Why? Because He Knows our EVERY thought. (Psalm 139, Luke 6:8,9) He Knows what we’re thinking, and planning, and He knows what it is like to be “tempted” although He Never sinned, He was a man; a human being, that is why the scriptures tell us in Hebrews 4:15, “For we have not have a high priest (Jesus) who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in ALL things, just as we are, yet without sin.”
RESTORING YOUR MARRIAGE AND FAMILY:
Husbands, when you learn and understand that You are “Complete in Him” that you are Fully-Satisfied in Christ Jesus, Full of His Love in Your Heart (spirit) by the Holy Spirit, which is “Christ in You the Hope of Glory” When you are Fully Satisfied in Him, You will be Fully Satisfied with Your Wife; You will Love and Cherish her, you will No longer be lured away from who you are “In Christ Jesus” you will Love her and be Fully Satisfied with her and No longer crave pornography, or any other sexual behavior outside of marriage. If you practice polygamy; you will return to the original plan of God, “husband of one wife” as God created Adam and Eve, and the command of God that, a “Man shall leave his mother and father and cleave to his wife, the two shall become ONE flesh.” Genesis 2:24, Jesus speaking in Matthew 19:5 and Mark 10:8, and the Holy Spirit through Paul in Ephesians 5:31.
Remember the words of Jesus, “But I SAY unto YOU, that whosoever looks on a woman, to lust after her, has committed adultery with her already in his heart.” Matthew 5:28. When you truly understand that you are “Complete, Fully-Satisfied, In Him,” you will, “walk in the Spirit and Not fulfill the lusts of the flesh”; You will not go to establishments that provide male entertainment, you will not watch inappropriate videos on TikTok, or other social media platforms, as Jesus tells us, “And if your eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter Life with one eye, than have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.” Matthew 18:9. Jesus is saying, Don’t Look at it, Don’t entertain it, “Cast down imaginations and high thoughts that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God, and bring into captivity, EVERY thought to the obedience of Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5.
Learn to be Fully-Satisfied with your wife, “Husband’s Love your wife As Christ Loved the Church and Gave Himself for her.” Ephesians 5:25.
And for Single men, treat God’s Daughters as your Sister’s in Christ, for Jesus said, “Love one another As I have Loved you.”
Teach your children to live Righteously, teach your sons and daughters these principles, remember, studies say that pornography for boys can begin at the early age of only 9 years old. Teach your sons and daughters what it means to be “Complete in Him;” Complete in Christ Jesus. “Train your children up in the way that they should go, and when they are older, they will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6. Hold them accountable: talk to them frequently, pray with them, let them feel comfortable in talking with you. Mother’s and Father’s, bring these things to the light, because our “enemy the devil roams as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour, whom resist steadfast in the Faith (Truth; Word of God) Know the same afflictions are accomplished in the brothers and sisters.” 1 Peter 5:8,9.
Teach your daughters to value themselves and to never allow any boy or man to manipulate them. Teach them they are Daughters of the Most High God, and that they are Equal, as God made Both Adam and Eve Equal and were given His Dominion over the “birds of the air, the fish of the sea, and Every scurrying creature along the ground” that they were given Dominion over creation, Not over one another or other human beings. Genesis 1:26.
As Believer’s and Followers of Jesus, we are ALL “Complete in Him,” Complete; Fully Satisfied In Christ Jesus.
