Super Bowl Spectacular Performances!

American Idol’s 2002 inaugural winner Kelly Clarkson sang the National Anthem during the XLVI Super Bowl in Indianapolis.  This is not the first time Clarkson has had the privilege of singing at major sporting events: The 29-year-old artist also sang the anthem before game five of the 2011 NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks and before game three of the 2010 World Series between the San Francisco Giants and Texas Rangers. Over the last decade Clarkson has become the most successful American Idol contestant around the world with 24 million in album sales and 37 million in singles worldwide according to Billboard and Nielsen Sound Scan. She has also received 2 Grammy’s, 3 MTV Awards, 12 Billboard Music Awards and 4 American Music Awards and a Women’s World Award.

Country husband and wife duo Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton performed a beautiful rendition of “America the Beautiful”. Lambert was signed by Epic Records not long after she became a finalist during the  2003 season of National Star. Her album “Revolution” released in 2009 landed her 2 #1 hits, “The House That Built Me” and “Heart Like Mine” From his self-titled debut album (2001), Blake Shelton’s single “Austin” held number 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs charts for 5 weeks. Shelton is also a vocal coach on NBC’s reality talent show “The Voice”  Miranda and Blake married in 2011.

Last but not least, the acclaimed singer-songwriter Madonna, born August 16, 1958 in Bay City, Michigan performed during half-time opening with “Vogue” and ending with “Like A Prayer” Madonna has sold 300 million records world-wide and is recognized as the world’s top selling female artist of all time. Cee Lo Green accompanied her during the last song of her performance. Green, also a vocal coach on “The Voice” is a singer-songwriter, rapper, record producer and actor.
